I am a Dow Jones News Fund data intern at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. I graduated in May with a master's in investigative journalism at Columbia University. You can read my work on my website. I write a newsletter called Extremely Online.
For two years, I was the Technology for Liberty Fellow at the ACLU of Massachusetts, where I worked on issues like surveillance technologies, policing and algorithmic harms. I oversaw the Data for Justice project, publishing data-driven accountability stories and crafting interactive visualizations.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher, studying reinforcement learning and decision-making using computational methods. I have a PhD in neuroscience from University College London.
